Strategic Leadership Development Focus: Maximizing Strengths, Addressing Weaknesses, and Managing Blindspots

We would firstly seek to diagnose your level of self awareness. To help you enhance or gain self-awareness insights, we recommend a CliftonStrengths assessment which will clearly identify your strengths, weaknesses and blindspots. To then understand how each of these three really show up, we would encourage you to formally seek feedback from your direct reports, peers and those up the chain. The insights gained from these two activities will clearly outline the leadership development areas you should then focus on. Keep in mind, the goal is to maximise your strengths,  understand your weaknesses and manage your blindspots.

Below is a list of leadership development areas we often help clients work on:

1. Communicating

Becoming a better listener; enhancing confident decision making (including seeking the opinions of others); assertively standing up for your own beliefs and opinions; managing conflict constructively and improving your level of influence.

2. Managing performance

Delegating effectively; empowering others; focus on results and holding others accountable as appropriate; enhanced strategic thinking and building your appetite for risk management.

3. Cultivating the right culture

Creating strength through departmental connection and collaboration; eradicating toxic influencers; growing diversity and inclusivity; developing (by coaching and mentoring) your current, emerging and aspiring leaders; fostering an environment based on trust and vulnerability.
